Dr. Marisa Brunetti
What do you do for Independent Vets?
My goal is to support our IndeVets in their practice of medicine so their jobs can be done more efficiently and effectively. I also strive to nurture our relationships with our partner veterinary hospitals. I also practice general medicine in many of our partner hospitals.
Who are you?
I’m a native Pennsylvanian, born in Chester and raised in Phoenixville and Chadds Ford. I graduated from Syracuse University with degrees in public relations and biology – and also an intense love for college basketball and anything orange. I moved back home for vet school at Penn so I could be close to my family and follow Philadelphia sports. After graduation I went directly into private practice, spending time as a general practitioner and learning shelter medicine. I spent a year as a regional medical director for a veterinary company in Texas prior to moving back home and joining the IndeVets team.
I’m certified in animal chiropractic and I’m interested in integrative medicine and pain management. My other clinical interests include dermatology, forensic medicine and diagnostic imaging. I also serve on the board of directors of Animal Lifeline, an animal rescue based in Warrington, Pa.
When I’m not working I love to travel. I go on at least two trips each year – one with my best friends from Syracuse, and one with my best friends from veterinary school. I have two big goals: visit all 50 states and all Major League Baseball parks.
I also spend a bunch of time with my three cats—Gus, Teddy and Phoenix—and one dog, Lois a mutt from the streets of Houston.
What’s your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
Only one thing?! No way! I love cooking, reading, being outside, exercising, traveling and spending time with loved ones (furry and otherwise).
